Syrian refugee children
The HAPPY PAINTER project is an initiative by the artchild Foundation. The artchild Foundation offers painting workshops which encourage children to discover and develop authenticity. By allowing them to express their creativity, our workshops help children build self-confidence. The workshops are presented by Dutch fine artist Margareth Meulmeester, either at her studio in Warmond or on location: www.margarethmeulmeester.nl
Margareth helps nurture an atmosphere for children where thought is transformed into feeling. By creating a wholesome experience that is lived in the moment, children are able to recapture the essence of childhood. The result is an episode of true happiness. HAPPINESS is a state of being that is both honest and felt. It leaves a lasting impression. Those who experience many ‘happy moments’ when young are better equipped to create a loving world as adults, not least because they can connect and express openness without fear.
When a young person has lost everything, feelings of insecurity may arise, and it can be incredibly difficult to rediscover balance from within. The feeling of happiness and being safe within oneself is not linked to a specific situation, however, and can be restored at any moment. This is what we try to do at artchild.
